We are strongly committed to the health and well-being of the entire SPCM community. We recognize that the spread of the Coronavirus is causing fear and anxiety, so we want to reassure you that we are doing what we can to limit its potential spread.
We will complete a deep cleaning of the Conservatory this week and we sanitize our studios and offices daily.
As general health precautions, we remind the entire SPCM community to undertake these preventative actions (as recommended by the Centers for Disease Control):
Wash your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds.
Avoid touching your face.
Cough and sneeze into your elbow or into a tissue.
Clean frequently touched surfaces and objects daily.
Stay home when you are sick, except to get medical care.
We will continue to monitor the situation and to update you on any changes to our day-to-day operations. You can refer to the CDC for the latest information on the virus, and for recommendations on how to address it.
Many of our students are children. We recognize that they respond differently to emergencies than adults do and we encourage those with children to consult the CDC's recommendations on helping children cope with emergencies.
Finally, the Conservatory rejects the racism that has characterized some of the discourse surrounding COVID-19 and affirms that it is a public health crisis that impacts us all.
We will continue to be in touch as necessary. As always, thank you for your support.
Sincerely,
Cléa Galhano
Executive Artistic Director
