Summer Music Camps
In 2018, The Saint Paul Conservatory of Music offers three summer camps: The Children’s Music Workshop for children who have completed Kindergarten up to 6th grade, Maestros of the Future for ages 13 to 17, and In Harmony with Autism for ages 6 to 14.
Financial aid is available for all summer camps. Please contact us for an application. The Conservatory welcomes students of any race, color, creed, sexual orientation or identity, and national or ethnic origin.
Children's Music Workshop
July 9–20, 2018
Monday–Friday, 9am–4pm (10 days)
Ages: completed K up to 6th grade
Tuition: $575 ($550 for Conservatory students)

The Children’s Music Workshop, a music day camp for aspiring young musicians, offers a setting in which children can explore their musical knowledge and ability through classes, creative play, and presentations by renowned professionals. The Workshop will culminate in performances on the last two days of camp.
Maestros of the Future

4 days, 9am–4pm
Ages: 13 to 17
Maestros of the Future is a music and leadership workshop that encourages students to enhance their communication, problem-solving and team work skills through the study of chamber music. Intermediate to advanced teenaged musicians will explore chamber music with active chamber musician Patricia McPherson by playing in duet, trios, and quartets with their peers.
Other activities during the workshop have included individual practice time, theater games, field trips to Minnesota Public Radio, as well as concerts given by local artists. The workshop concludes with a student showcase concert and reception.
A typical day in the Maestros of the Future camp will include:
- Introductory activity
- Chamber music in small groups
- Master classes with professional musicians
- Small group sessions/team-building
- Service learning field trip
- Guest artist performance
*Minimum registration of 6 students is required for the camp to run.
In Harmony with Autism
June 18–21, 2018
4 days, 10am–12pm each day
*June 18 session includes an orientation starting at 9:30am

In Harmony with Autism is a workshop presented in partnership with the Autism Society of Minnesota. Participants will learn about music through song and games and work with music experts, trying a variety of percussion instruments. The workshop is directed by Kathy Lee, a performing musician, elementary music teacher, and director of the Saint Paul Children’s Chorus at the SPCM.
