Hosted at the Minnesota History Center, the Rothchild Family Concert Series will feature our coffee concert series in a beautiful, reverberant, and open space each month on the Thursday following each coffee concert. Be sure to arrive early for free admission to the exhibits after 4:30pm in addition to free parking!
Join us on Thursday, December 11th for violist Daniel Orsen and pianist Osip Nikiforov. This moving program of Bach, Schubert, Liszt, and Tchaikovsky will take us from the gloom of cloudy northern Germany to the sunny alpine pastures of the alps, and also explore the musical language and connections of Liszt and Tchaikovsky’s piano repertoire.
Daniel Orsen performs with the Saint Paul Chamber Orchestra and recently released the recording “Wagner’s Nightmare,” a collection of works for viola and piano. Siberian born pianist Osip Nikiforov can be found concertizing on stages throughout the United States, including appearances with the Minnesota Orchestra, and is third prize winner of the 2016 San Antonio International Piano Competition.
