Chamber Music at The SPCM

The Saint Paul Conservatory of Music offers robust opportunities to learn and explore chamber music with world-class teachers and performers. Chamber music develops listening, rhythmic, interpretive, and communication skills while exposing students to amazing repertoire. Small groups offer musicians a social experience with high-level musical study and enhance their instrumental and orchestral capacity.

Saint Paul Chamber Music Academy

The Saint Paul Chamber Music Academy, led by Director Tom Rosenberg, offers advanced training in small ensemble skills from the region’s finest chamber musicians. The Chamber Music Academy includes weekly chamber music coachings, numerous performance opportunities, competition preparation and support, and chamber music masterclasses with guest artists and Academy faculty.

Saint Paul Chamber Music Institute

The Saint Paul Chamber Music Institute (SPCMI) is an immersive and exciting two-week chamber music program and festival for college and pre-college string players during which world-renowned faculty work with student ensembles each day as coaches, instrumental teachers, and mentors. Music making skills including interpretation, ensemble technique, listening, and communication with an audience are emphasized. At the same time, we promote citizenship skills related to responsibility to others, encouraging positive group dynamics, and collaborative problem solving.
