Monte Mason
Piano and Organ, Ensembles
Monte Mason is the founding director of The Gregorian Singers, a piano and organ teacher, and composer. Formerly a church musician, he was organist and choirmaster at St. Martin's by the Lake, Minnetonka Beach, for thirty years, where he directed a childrens'/youth choir, parish choir, an instrumental ensemble, and the Youth Arts Program. Additional projects at St. Martin's included work with Orff instruments, and teaching piano lessons.
Additional work with young people has included the Episcopal Youth Music Festivals, and for eleven years, the direction of the fall theatrical productions at Orono Middle School.
Mason received a BA in music at Macalester College with an emphasis on piano performance with Donald Betts.
