Cléa Galhano Outreach Scholarship

The SPCM Board of Directors created the Cléa Galhano Outreach Scholarship in honor of Cléa’s 15 years of service as the Conservatory’s Executive Director (2006–2021) and her commitment to making musical education accessible to all young people, regardless of circumstances.

The scholarship will be given to several students each academic year to enable them to explore their musicality and engage in the Conservatory‘s community and activities in order to enhance their musical experiences.

“I will never forget the first day in my life that I had contact with music. I was seven years old, and I heard a sound coming from a window. It was a piano. Everyday I would go to school earlier to be able to listen to that magical sound. From that moment on, my internal world changed.

“With this scholarship I would love to provide the magical world of music to SPCM outreach students who can’t afford lessons, and to empower them with the beauty of music in the hope that their internal worlds will change forever as well.”—Cléa Galhano
