Amos is a multifaceted pianist with an extensive career as a soloist, chamber musician, and collaborative artist. With over a decade of experience in higher education across Mexico and the United States, Amos is also a passionate advocate for diverse initiatives, integrating cultural awareness into both teaching and performance.

A graduate of the University of Minnesota with a Doctor of Musical Arts in Piano Performance, Amos has developed a particular interest in the fusion of popular traditions with classical forms, as reflected in his dissertation on Manuel Ponce’s Sonata No. 2. His studies also took him to Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance in London, the Istituto Superiore di Studi Musicali Pietro Mascagni in Italy, and the Universidad de las Artes de Yucatán in Mexico, earning top honors at each institution.

In performance, Amos has appeared as a soloist with orchestras including the Orquesta Sinfónica de Yucatán, the Universidad de las Artes de Yucatán Orchestra, and the Kenwood Symphony Orchestra. He has also given solo recitals in renowned venues such as Steinway Hall (London), l’Église de Saint-Merry (Paris), and Teatro José Peón Contreras (Mérida), as well as at festivals in Mexico, Italy, and the United Kingdom. His repertoire spans from the classical canon to contemporary works, with a particular emphasis on Latin American composers and underrepresented voices in music.

An active proponent of cross-cultural artistic initiatives, Amos is the co-founder of Son de Cuerdas, a chamber ensemble dedicated to bridging cultures through Latin American classical and folk traditions. The ensemble has been selected as a Class Notes Artist for the 2024-2025 season, bringing music to students across Minnesota. He also co-founded and directed the Viva México! Festival at the University of Minnesota, a groundbreaking celebration of Mexican music and arts that brought together musicians, visual artists, and scholars.

Throughout his career, Amos has been recognized with numerous awards, including First Prize at the CAVATINA Intercollegiate Chamber Music Competition in the UK, Second Prize at Italy’s Premio Crescendo, and two different FONCA-CONACYT Fellowships from the Mexican government. His work as a performer, educator, and cultural advocate continues to shape and inspire new generations of musicians.
