Maestros of the Future is a music and leadership workshop that encourages students to enhance their communication, problem-solving and team work skills through the study of chamber music.  Intermediate to advanced teenaged musicians will explore chamber music with active chamber musician Patricia McPherson by playing in duet, trios, and quartets with their peers. Open to 13-17 year olds. Other activities during the workshop have included individual practice time, theater games, field trips to Minnesota Public Radio, as well as concerts given by local artists.  The workshop concludes with a student showcase concert and reception.

A typical day in the Maestros of the Future camp will include:

  • Introductory activity
  • Chamber music in small groups
  • Master classes with professional musicians
  • Small group sessions/team-building
  • Service learning field trip
  • Guest artist performance

*Minimum registration of 6 students is required for the camp to run.
