“Playing With Music” supports and fosters primary music development for young children (birth to kindergarten) and their parents/caregivers through participatory music experiences. Mark Sorvari facilitates opportunities for children to improvise, create, collaborate, and communicate, while building community through songs and creative movement.
A fun morning of song and dance will foster music appreciation and basic beat and pitch competency. Music is offered that catches a child’s imagination and inspires participation, play and learning through active music making.
Children will “play with” musical materials in the same way that they learn art by “playing with“ pencils, crayons, and paints, or learn language by “playing with” sounds, words, and ideas. in class, we sing, dance, play instruments, laugh, and explore music and movement in a relaxed yet focused setting. It is a flexible environment for new students and continuing students alike.
